Vastu Sastra
Before
you build your house, make sure about the location of the site. Orientation of
the site is very important as it will brings harmony to your life. Proper
orientation of your house will give you positive energy in your life. I will
tell you how you can make your dream home with the use of Vastu Sastra Science
of living
Entrance/Main doors
1.
Main doors facing (East, North, “North
East”) are said to be Good doors.
2.
Avoid doors facing (South West) as it
is the entry of the devil and brings struggles and misfortunes.
3.
Avoid doors facing (South East) as it
brings illness, anger and court matters.
4.
Avoid doors facing (South) as it
brings sharps energy which disturbs positive energy, it create highly active in
social life, sometimes it brings arguments, to avoid this have another door in
(North) directions.
5.
Main doors facing ( West ) is not bad
for the youngsters as it has an active energy, but the main male member of the
house may remain out of the house for a longer time, if the door faces (West)
and a female if the door faces (North).
6.
Main doors facing (North West) is not
so bad. It can bring health, wealth and prosperity.
7.
Number of doors and windows should be
(even) in the house.
8.
Don’t keep shoes in front of the main
entrance, don’t keep garbage or dustbin near main entrance it emit negative
energy, avoid black color doors, Avoid temples-religious place, poles, trees,
wires etc directly in-front of the main entrance.
9.
Avoid slanting or circular opening
entrance door. Avoid having a main door facing another home’s main entrance.
10.
Make sure the main door is noise free
while opening or closing. It should open inside and clockwise.
Living Room
1.
Construct a living room in “East”
(not in South East corner) or in “North”.
2.
All living rooms is beneficial in
North direction, as it brings wealth and health for entire family.
3.
“North west” living room is also
good.
4.
“South west” located living room
makes your guests feel at home and they stick to your home for long time.
However “South west“ best suits for master bed rooms.
5.
Living area floors should slope
towards East or North.
6.
Put T.V in the “South-East” corner
and not in North-East corner, if TV is in south west corner, then till will be
breakdown often. If TV in “North west” corner then the family will waste a lot
of precious time watching TV only.
7.
Place AC in West, North-West or East
and Not in South-East.
8.
Hang portrait of gods or some
beautiful paining in the North-East wall or corner.
9.
Use “White, light yellow, blue or
green color” in living rooms walls.
10.
Keep square or rectangular furniture
in living area and avoid circular oval or any other shape of furniture (
applicable to entire rooms)
11.
Provide a staircase in the South,
West or South-West corner of living area.
12.
Put light curtains on North-East
windows and doors and heavy curtains in South-West (applicable anywhere in a
home).
13.
Keep North-East corner of living area
clean and empty if possible, for betterment keep healthy plants in this corner.
14.
Never keep artificial flowers, dried
flowers, and cactus as it attracts misfortune, negative influence on finance
and career.
15.
Keep a fish aquarium in the East,
North or North-East of the living area. (Fish aquarium is a very powerful tool
in vastu sastra as it will remedy all vastu defects) or else it will ruin all
the happiness in the house.
16.
If there is an error in North-west
corner then placing an aquarium will drop that issue.
17.
Place a water fountain in North.
18.
God presides North-East of the house
and this is one of the ideal location of living room.
Kitchen
1.
Kitchen should be made in
“South-east” corner of the house. If not then another option is the
“North-west” corner of the house. Best option is the “South East” corner.
2.
Cooking gas too should be in the
“south-east” directions, when a person cooks they should be facing to the east
only.
3.
Sinks and taps in the kitchen
indicate the flowing water, should be placed in North-east directions away from
the cooking stove, as they are the opposite elements.
4.
Refrigerator should be placed in
“south-west” direction at least a foot far from the corner. Avoid placing it in
the “North east” directions.
5.
Windows and exhaust fans should be
placed in “East” and ventilators should be placed in “southern directions”
6.
Electrical appliance oven,
microwaves, heaters should be placed in “south or south east directions”, avoid
placing in “north-east” directions.
7.
Storage should be kept in southern or
western wall in the kitchen. Best to avoid north and east side walls.
8.
Drinking water vessels should be
placed in North-east side.
9.
Ceramic tiles or mosaic flooring best
option, use yellow, rose, chocolate brown, green, orange or red colors.
10. Ensure kitchen doesn’t share a wall with the toilet or bathroom, and
never made below the bathroom or the toilet in multi-storey building.
Bed Rooms
1.
The Reasonable length to breadth
ratio is less or equal to 1:2 e.g. if the length is 20 foot, then the breadth
lies between 10 feet to 40 feet.
2.
Master bedroom it should be in the “south-west”
corner of the home and head of the family must occupy this bedroom.
3.
If house is multistory then master
bedroom in the “south-west” corner of the top floor is best.
4.
Perfect place for bed in master
bedroom is towards South or west wall, so that while sleeping the person’s head
is towards South or West and legs towards North or East.
5.
Sleeping with legs towards the east
gives name, reputation & richness.
6.
Sleeping with legs towards the west
gives mental harmony & augments fondness for spiritualism.
7.
Sleeping with legs towards the north,
increases prosperity and opulence.
8.
However, one should not sleep with
legs towards South as he will not have a sound sleep. There will be bad dreams,
bad thoughts in the mind.
9.
Bed alignment to any corners is
unsuitable.
10.
Master bedroom should only be used by
married couples.
11.
West or North side is suitable for
attached bathroom, changing room or bath tub etc, bathroom should not face the
bed directly.
12.
East, North or west walls are best spot
for entrance door of master bedroom. Avoid entrance on south wall.
13.
East or North walls are good for
windows in the bedroom.
14.
South-West corner of the master
bedroom should always be occupied.
15.
Best place to keep heavy almirah is
the south-west corner of the master bedroom.
16.
Place dressing table with or without
mirror in the North or East wall.
17.
If a mirror is in the bedroom with or
without dressing table then make sure that none of the body part is visible in
the mirror while sleeping on the bed, else the same body part will develop
medical problems.
18.
Please avoid PC TV in the bedroom, if
so then place electrical appliances in the south-East of the bedroom.
19.
Plants, fish aquarium or any other
life forms are a strict “NO” in bedroom.
20.
Unmarried children or guest can use a
bedroom in the East.
21.
Do not place any bedroom in the
south-East direction of the main building as it leads to unnecessary quarrels,
Or else use the bedroom as a office or unmarried son’s bedroom.
22.
Do not have any bedroom in the
North-East directions.
23.
Use light rose, gray, blue,
chocolate, green etc as wall colors for bedrooms.
Toilets
1.
Water closet (commode) should be
aligned to North- south axis in toilet.
2.
Build toilets in West or North-West
side of north of a room.
3.
Toilets can also be constructed on
South side.
4.
Place commode inside the toilets in
West, South or North-West side of west.
5.
Fit the commode in the toilet in such way that
while using the commode the person never faces East or West.
6.
Construct toilet 1-2 feet higher than
ground level.
7.
You can have entrance door of the
toilet on East or North wall.
8.
Provide a small window in the toilet
in East, West or North wall.
9.
Do not have water closet, in toilet,
above or under pooja room, fire or bed place.
10.
Avoid toilets in center, North-East
or South-West corners of home.
11.
Avoid septic tank in South side of
toilet.
12.
Never locate an attached toilet
South- East or South-West corner.
13.
Never store water or install taps in
South-West or South-East.
